Shantui
The SMT50-G2N is a half-metre compact cold planer on Shantui’s new-generation platform, built to China Stage IV emissions. It is a no-conveyor version: the milled material is left in the cut or cleared separately, which keeps the machine short and light for restricted sites.
It is aimed at municipal road maintenance and underground garages, where operators mill and texture asphalt and concrete pavements in confined spaces. The planer has magnetic-rack cylinder levelling, proportional control and constant-speed milling.
Cutting force reaches 24 kN, a 49% gain over the previous platform, and drawbar pull rises from 50 kN to 58 kN. The milling drum offers three working gears, and magnetic-rack cylinder levelling, proportional control and constant drum speed keep the cut consistent.
Power comes from a Weichai WP4.6N engine. Hydraulic and electrical key components use Rexroth, Kaselmann/Jiesimann and EPEC suppliers, and structural parts come from specialist industry suppliers.
The engine and hydraulic systems are laid out in a new arrangement with better component placement. The engine hood side door opens 90 degrees and the fuel tank swings out, giving large service space. A small hydraulic reservoir keeps maintenance cost down.
A 7-inch colour touchscreen carries optimised display content. A multi-function integrated lever simplifies controls, a drum slow-rotation feature makes bit changes easier, and the seat suspension has been upgraded.
