Shantui
The L58K-G develops Shantui's L58K Stage IV platform, with upgrades on site adaptability, machine capability and ride comfort. At about 18 t operating weight, a 3300 mm wheelbase and mid-position articulation, the reinforced chassis gives balanced load distribution for heavy port, terminal and mine work.
The machine has built a reputation on sand and gravel handling since launch.
A Shantui-spec low-speed, high-torque Weichai WP10H engine, about 10% more fuel-efficient than the previous WP10 platform, with empty, medium and heavy power modes. The fuel-water separator alarms on water level, and the rear-mounted 300 L diesel tank supports continuous shifts and improves stability.
A purpose-built planetary transmission raises travel speed and drawbar pull by about 10% each, lifting combined-cycle output by over 15%. Matched with the engine, torque converter, drive shaft and axle, the machine accelerates quickly and holds strong breakout and lift force in combined travel-and-work cycles.
Reinforced front and rear frames pair with the 3300 mm wheelbase for stable running. The wide-bore articulation with double tapered-roller upper bearing spreads stress for rough duty, and the aligned articulation keeps front and rear tyres tracking together to cut turning resistance and tyre wear. The optimized linkage is fast, with breakout force up to 185 kN, and the lowered dump angle improves ground-level unloading. A reinforced reworked bucket fills better on every pass.
The integrated sealed cab holds noise around 80 dB with improved mounts. Heating and air conditioning are optional, the suspended seat adjusts steplessly, and the step-motor digital instrument reports live data with alarms. Controls are arranged for low long-shift fatigue.
The digital instrument reports live data with self-diagnosis alarms. The tilting steering column and integrated relay and fuse boxes simplify service. Work equipment can be mechanical or pilot-controlled; Chinese voice alarms, an air horn, LED work lamps, a cab reading light and audio system suit busy, people-dense sites.
The air tank beside the ladder drains easily, centralized greasing is done from ground level, and wide-opening side covers leave large service space. Air, fuel, oil and transmission filters are within reach, with the fuel-water alarm protecting the engine.
