The SK105 uses a Weichai WP14T engine, Fast 8DS240A gearbox, HanDe axles and a Fast-Eaton ceramic clutch on Shantui's chassis. The package is tuned for mid-size open-pit mines where uptime and parts cost dominate the operating budget.
At 70 t payload, the truck fits the common 100 t-class haul fleet used across quarry and metal-mine applications.
The WP14T engineering engine reaches 2,300 N·m of torque with good reliability and lower fuel use. A large-diameter cooling fan and plate-fin cooling module keep the truck going in high-load uphill mine duty, and a desert-style pre-cleaner extends service intervals. The engine meets China non-road Stage IV. The pull-type diaphragm-spring ceramic clutch shifts smoothly without slip.
The high-strength main-and-sub flexible frame was optimized by finite-element analysis so loads spread evenly and stress points do not concentrate. The slide-type leaf-spring suspension runs 12 months without failure, and the reinforced maintenance-free balance axle adds reliability. V-rod torque arms with maintenance-free ball joints cushion forces, and the large-ratio dual-reduction drive axle uses high-strength materials in the hub and housing. 16.00R25 earth-mover tires carry well with low sinkage, and armor-style body guarding comes standard.
The WP14T + Fast 8DS240A + HanDe cast mining-axle combination is a mature package. The Fast 8DS single-main-box gearbox cuts failure points and uses forced lubrication. The single-side skeleton-skin cab is roomy with a front guard, and full-hydraulic steering comes standard.
The body carries 39 m³ flat or 46 m³ heaped, and a fleet of SK105 trucks typically moves over 10% more material than comparable units. The small-ratio gearbox, large-ratio rear axle and small-angle driveshaft layout balance reliability and torque, and the per-tonne fuel use stays low. A three-stage desert air filter keeps restriction and maintenance cost down, while the high-fill large fuel tank supports uninterrupted day shifts.
