Introduction

The SP90-G is a 59.5 t-class crawler pipelayer built for mainline oil and gas pipeline construction. It carries a Cummins M14 or Weichai WP13G engine rated at 269 kW, meeting China Stage IV emission requirements.

The machine is used for pipe carrying, stringing, welding support and lowering-in of large and medium-diameter line pipe. Travel is controlled by a single electro-hydraulic lever, while the boom, hook and counterweight use pilot control for fine inching during pipe alignment.

A pressurized, fresh-air cab keeps noise at the operator’s ear down to 76 dB, and an on-board load moment limiter monitors lifting operations in real time.

Technical features

• Power System. Cummins M14 / Weichai WP13G off-highway engine matched to Shantui bulldozer drivelines, meeting China Stage IV. The engine family has a large installed base, common service parts and a low maintenance cost.
• Operator Environment. A new pressurized cab is sealed and roomy with wide all-round visibility and a fresh-air HVAC system. Noise at the operator’s ear reaches 76 dB, and the seat and armrests adjust over a wide range for a comfortable working posture.
• Site Adaptability. The undercarriage is stable with low average fuel consumption. The boom covers a wide working radius and the hook hoists quickly. Load-sensitive travel and strong lifting capacity support high productivity; hook, boom and counterweight move steplessly in combined motions. Both hoists use three-stage planetary reduction for a high safety factor, and the load moment limiter monitors every lift.
• Work Equipment Control. Boom luffing, hook hoist and counterweight functions run through pilot pressure-reducing valves. Hook and boom share one lever, the counterweight a second one, giving fine inching for pipe alignment. Hoist motors use counterbalance valves to prevent load slip and empty-hook drift, and the hook clutch offers free-fall operation.
• Service & Maintenance. Structural parts carry over from proven Shantui platforms. Wiring looms run in seamless corrugated conduit with split connectors for a high ingress rating, and core electrical and hydraulic components come from established suppliers.
